Registered Nurse - Critical Care Float (ICU / PCU / Med-Surg RN) – Night Shift

• Schedule: Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00 – 07:30 | 48 Hours per Week (3x12s or 4x12s option available; Block scheduling is an option)
  • Schedule Structure: 12-hour night shifts. Block scheduling optional.
  • Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Mandatory holiday rotation required (must work at least 2 of 3 major observed holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
  • On-Call / Standby: On-call coverage as assigned per department schedule.
  • Floating Protocol & Unit Details: Critical Care Resource Float Pool (12-bed Critical Care Unit, 7 daily census). Mandatory System Float: Resource Traveler deployed across ICU, Progressive Care (PCU), Medical-Surgical (MS), and Emergency Department (ED as helping hands) based on departmental needs. Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MS 1:4 (must be capable of handling higher ratios). Patient Diagnoses: ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, UTIs, Acute Shock. Special Procedures & Devices: Mechanical Ventilation, Arctic Sun (Targeted Temperature Management), IABP (rare), Cath Lab care, TR Bands, femoral sheath pulls, EEGs, cardioversion, stress tests. EMR: Cerner (preferred). Orientation: 12 hours non-billable (24 total orientation hours). Free parking. Uniform: Red scrub top, Black scrub bottoms.

• Clinical Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]:
  • Minimum 2+ to 3+ years of dedicated Critical Care / ICU nursing experience strictly required [HARDSTOP] (Candidates with >1.5 years of high-acuity ICU experience or strong PCU background comfortable handling 1:4 ratios may be screened).
  • Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers WILL NOT be accepted [HARDSTOP].
  • Critical Care & Floating Competency: Direct clinical proficiency in continuous vasoactive drip titration, mechanical ventilator management, invasive lines (art lines, central lines), Arctic Sun hypothermia protocol, TR band management, and femoral sheath removal strictly required [HARDSTOP].
  • Mandatory Float Agreement: Traveler MUST be explicitly aware and agreeable to float across ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and ED (as helping hands) [HARDSTOP].
• State Licensure [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION - HARDSTOP]:
  • Active Indiana RN License OR Active Multistate Compact RN License strictly required IN-HAND at time of submission [HARDSTOP] (Pending licenses WILL NOT be accepted).

  • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification strictly required IN-HAND at submission [HARDSTOP].

  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred.
