ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An opportunity for a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join the Supplemental Resource Office Float Pool, providing care in various intensive care and intermediate care units. This role requires flexibility to float between units, ensuring high-quality patient care across multiple settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in various ICU and intermediate care units, including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and Special Pathogens Unit.
• Support patient care in the Emergency Department for admitted patients awaiting room assignments.
• Adhere to unit policies and protocols, including float policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.

Schedule

• Night shifts, 4x12 hour schedules (19:00 - 07:00).
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Work requirements include two out of three winter holidays, with specific holidays designated for duty.
• Time-off approvals are limited, with restrictions during the initial weeks of assignment.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Flexibility to float between different care units as needed.
• Ability to meet the clinical demands of various ICU and intermediate care environments.
