ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Unit Description

The ICU primarily serves adult patients with complex surgical conditions, including burns, as well as acutely ill medical patients. While the unit specializes in burn care, currently, less than 10% of our patients are thermal burn cases. The ICU operates under a ‘closed ICU’ model where all patients are managed by a consistent team. Advanced practice providers (APPs) are the primary care providers, supported by admitting surgical teams and consultant specialists. Our care approach emphasizes a multispecialty team model, with APPs and residents supervised by in-house attending ICU physicians available 24/7, alongside critical care fellows.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes effectively and efficiently.
• Assist in various therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and care options.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• A valid nursing license/certificate is required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
