Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurses are needed at a healthcare organization to provide specialized critical care to adult and geriatric patients. The positions involve floating across various ICU and emergency department units, including post-anesthesia care units and trauma areas, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role requires flexibility, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to different departmental needs on a rotating schedule.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/06/2026 and ending on 03/30/2027.
- Required Qualifications: CA RN license; BSN degree; a minimum of 2 years of recent adult medical/surgical critical care RN experience; current certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Preferred Qualifications: 2.5 years of ICU experience including neuro critical care; recent float pool, PACU, or emergency room experience.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
- Skills: Proficiency in managing ports, arterial lines, ventilated patients, ECMO, CVICU care, and other advanced ICU procedures and equipment. Ability to float to multiple departments and facilities as needed.
- Travel Experience Required: Yes.
- Interdisciplinary Support: IV teams, respiratory services, phlebotomy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and others.
- Unit Details: Float pool position covering various adult ICU units including neuro, cardiac, and trauma, with a 2:1 patient ratio during day shifts and night shifts; workload adaptable based on operational needs.
- Additional Information: Must have completed references before submission; may need to move start date earlier if cleared; orientation includes 24 hours of training.
- Float Requirement: Ability to float to all UCSF campus units and departments, including ED and PACU; float rotation may be required.
- RTO (Reasonable Time Off): All RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of submittal and require manager approval at the time of offer; no mid-contract RTO changes accepted.
- Start Date: 10/06/2026.
