Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Description

The Neuroscience ICU specializes in the care of critically ill patients with a variety of neurological conditions, including neurotrauma, status epilepticus, stroke, and spinal cord injuries. The unit is equipped to manage complex comorbidities and multisystem organ involvement, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Neuro ICU.
• Conduct thorough assessments and implement nursing interventions based on best practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate patient care plans.
• Monitor and document patient progress, including vital signs and treatment responses.
• Educate patients and families regarding care protocols and health management.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of strong critical care experience required.
• 1+ years of travel experience preferred.
• 2+ years of Neuro critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Active nursing license in good standing.
• Ability to work 36 hours per week on a rotating day/night schedule, including every other weekend and holiday.

Additional Information

The Neuro ICU employs a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:2, ensuring that each patient receives the attention and care they require. The unit has a bed count of 24 with an average census of 22 patients.
