Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position is located in a busy, fast-paced healthcare facility in Reno, Nevada. The role involves delivering comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within a Level II Trauma Center environment. The ICU specializes in neurocritical care, including patients with stroke, neurologic tumors, seizures, and general medical conditions. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient outcomes over entire episodes of care, ensuring clinical excellence and patient safety.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 3x12 night shifts from 1845 to 0715 with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts. Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level and work major holidays, with 2 of the 3 major holidays required.
  • Required Qualifications: NV RN license required prior to start; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience, including caring for Neuro Trauma and post Neuro-surgery patients; experience with post Alteplase and/or post Thrombectomy patients and post neurosurgical patients with external ventricular drains.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for post neurosurgical patients with external ventricular drains.
  • Additional Information: Travelers may be required to float to different units based on department needs. The facility is an 800-bed hospital serving a 500-mile radius, accredited as a Level II Trauma Center with stroke certification.
