Opportunity:

RN - Trauma ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Self-scheduling available, managed by manager based on unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU
• 18-bed unit treating critically ill adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older)
• Common diagnoses include trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest
• Experience with CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, and IABP/Impella required; on-the-job training available for some equipment
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitoring using Draeger heart monitoring system with centralized telemetry
• Manage patients on equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Floating to inpatient units required, excluding Maternity/NICU
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Facility:

This facility operates the only Level 1 Trauma Center within its health system, providing the highest level of care for critically injured patients. The unit is a fast-paced, 18-bed Trauma ICU that accepts a high volume of transfers and emergency department admissions. The department is equipped with advanced monitoring and treatment technology and maintains a strong team-oriented culture that values critical thinking, positive attitude, and collaborative patient care.
