Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical registered nurse position available in a Level III Trauma Center. This role involves providing specialized care in a 20-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with floating responsibilities across Medical/Surgical units. The position requires managing a diverse adult patient population with complex diagnoses, including substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac emergencies, with support from attending physicians and residents 24 hours a day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/20/2026 and ending on 12/19/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Minimum of 2 years of continuous Adult ICU experience, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit, with telemetry competency.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC, and previous floating experience across Medical/Surgical units.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; primarily to Medical/Surgical units with patient loads up to 4-5.
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include managing high-acuity adult patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2 or 1:1, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other units. All shifts are scheduled on a rotating basis with no night shift rotation. The unit is equipped with free on-site parking and requires fluency in telemetry.
