Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position at a healthcare organization in a medical-surgical setting. This role involves providing critical care to patients with complex health conditions, including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, sedation monitoring, and cardiac monitoring. The position offers an opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills within a diverse patient population.

- Schedule: Straight days, every other weekend, every other holiday, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license valid in the state, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a related setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Specialty certification such as Progressive Care Nursing or Medical-Surgical Nursing is encouraged, along with experience in telemetry, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, and moderate sedation.
- Shift or Schedule Requirements: The nursing staff collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and physical therapists to deliver patient-centered care. Orientation includes competency validation on telemetry and mechanical ventilation, online modules, self-assessment, and unit shifts with preceptors.
- Additional Information: The unit has 30 inpatient beds with capacity to expand based on COVID volume, including non-COVID and COVID-specific wings. The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:3 in the pulmonary acute area, with flexible floating to other medical-surgical units as needed. All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility.
