ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

An experienced ICU Registered Nurse is needed for a critical care setting. The position involves providing comprehensive care to critically ill adult patients, with a focus on medical emergencies, post-surgical care, respiratory failure, and sepsis. The unit manages a small number of pediatric critical care cases as well.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing necessary interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including intensivists and hospitalists.
• Utilize Epic software for documentation and patient management.
• Support patients with medical emergencies, respiratory failure, sepsis, and post-surgical needs.
• Prepare patients for potential transfers to larger facilities for specialized care.
• Deliver care to stroke patients as part of the tele-stroke service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Proficient with Epic electronic medical records.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with every third weekend commitment.

Additional Information

This is an 8-week assignment in a 10-bed ICU with a diverse patient population. The nurse will engage in managing both adult and pediatric patients with complex health issues.
