Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250

  • Schedule: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in intermediate care

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
  • At least 3 years of recent acute-care ICU nursing experience
  • Strong ability to independently read and interpret telemetry
  • Experience caring for sedated, intubated, and vasopressor-supported patients
  • Willingness and flexibility to float among multiple critical care and intermediate-care units
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different teams, workflows, patient populations, and assignments
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, teamwork, and commitment to outstanding patient care

Travel ICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and intermediate-care patients throughout the assigned shift.
  • Float to Medical ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Neuro ICU, and intermediate-care units according to experience and operational needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, including telemetry findings and changes in hemodynamic status.
  • Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, sedation, and vasopressor therapy.
  • Prioritize care and safely manage assignments that may change during the same shift.
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support individualized treatment plans and positive patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC while following unit standards, safety practices, and critical-care protocols.
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while maintaining flexibility in a fast-moving float pool environment.
