BHS Workforce is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Lexington, Kentucky.

  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours weekly)
  • Weekends/Holidays: As needed

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ health conditions and identify their care needs.
  • Develop and follow individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer treatments and perform nursing procedures according to hospital policies.
  • Monitor patients and report any changes in their condition.
  • Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress.
  • Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Help patients with admission, transfers, and discharge.
  • Coordinate care with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Delegate tasks to team members and monitor their work.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort.
  • Follow evidence-based nursing practices and hospital guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to prevent falls, infections, and pressure injuries.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care.

Required Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with a healthcare team.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to assess patient safety risks and take appropriate action.
  • Basic computer skills or willingness to learn.
  • Professional attitude, accountability, and good time management.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with patients, families, and coworkers.

Education Requirements

  • Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required License and Certification

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous nursing experience.
  • A BSN degree is preferred but not required.
