Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care

Overview

The competent Nurse, in a critical care clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on long-range goals. Continuous development in managing clinical contingencies is essential. The Nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of applicable competencies, including leadership responsibilities.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families based on practice level.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assesses educational needs and provides instruction to patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying potential issues and resources.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the relevant nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact state.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA.
  • Current ACLS certification from AHA.
  • Current TNCC certification required.

Work Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment with a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Additional Information

Floating between various locations may be required. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is EPIC. A dress code of graphite gray scrubs is to be adhered to by all staff.
