The position supports night shift coverage, including every other weekend and holiday rotation, with a focus on primary care nursing.
Job Details
- Position: ICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Healthcare facility (generic)
- Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required
- Education & Experience: Valid IL license; minimum 2+ years ICU experience required
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week
- Responsibilities: Manage complex medical conditions such as sepsis, stroke, DKA, PNA; run codes; titrate medications including Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK; support in post-catheterization recovery; collaborate with hospitalists and ICU team members; monitor and interpret telemetry strips; utilize electronic charting system (EPIC)
- Additional Information: ICU beds are 8 with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3; occasional support from care support staff or CNA; telemedicine attachment; require Meditech experience a plus; float to MedSurg, Tele, or ER as needed; orientation includes two 12-hour shifts; Scrubs of any color are acceptable; staffing is census-based with coverage for unanticipated needs.
