Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Nebraska. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a 33-bed unit that manages trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients. The RN will be responsible for titrating critical drips, interpreting monitors, and collaborating with healthcare support staff to deliver quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts are arranged on a self-scheduling basis for core staff, with travelers added in. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and requests for only weekend blocks are not approved.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting; certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; experience with ventilator equipment (including nasal cannula to vents).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and working in acute care environments.
- Additional Information:
- Must have a driver's license, as travel distances are evaluated to ensure candidates are within 50 miles.
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove artificial nails may result in termination.
- Candidates will undertake a pass/fail skills exam during orientation, with a 90% pass requirement.
- RNs may be required to manage and troubleshoot respiratory devices, including ventilators, with oversight from telemetry techs.
- The facility utilizes the EPIC charting system.
- Upfront RTO requests of 7 days or less are accepted; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
- The shift includes a minimum of two holiday shifts within the contract period.
