Travel ICU Registered Nurse needed in Hood River, Oregon for a 26-week critical care nursing assignment in a scenic Columbia River Gorge community. Join a collaborative acute care team in a Critical Access / Level III Trauma Center and deliver high-quality patient care while floating to Med/Surg as needed.

- Weekend Coverage: Required, every other weekend
- Floating: Required to Med/Surg units based on patient census and unit needs
- On-Call: Not required
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience required
- Current Oregon RN license or compact license in hand at submission
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
- Experience in ICU, critical care, or Med/Surg nursing preferred
- Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4-5 in Med/Surg
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to float between units and support changing census needs
- Reliable transportation required for this travel nursing assignment
- Willingness to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays during the contract
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year of recent experience
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and adolescent patients in the ICU and Med/Surg settings
- Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, sepsis, pneumonia, and post-operative conditions
- Perform critical care interventions such as arterial line management, central line care, ventilator support, vasoactive drip titration, and blood product administration
- Support respiratory care needs including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and care for ventilated patients
- Accurately assess, document, and communicate patient status using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care
- Adapt to floating assignments and maintain strong nursing care standards across units
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and isolation protocols at all times
- Respond promptly to changing patient conditions and support a safe, efficient workflow
