Registered Nurse - ICU/PCU Float

SCHEDULING DETAILS

• Contract Length/Shift Details: 3x12s, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Floating: Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, with potential for floating 2-3 times per shift
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Local Candidates: Accepted within radius rule criteria
• Requests for Time Off: All requests must be included with submission
• Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

REQUIRED LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• Pendent license accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise, an active license from a compact state is required

REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS

• IV therapy: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, IV initiation & maintenance
• Respiratory support: BiPAP & CPAP management, ventilated patient care
• Medication administration: continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, titration of cardiac & vasoactive drips
• Wound care: surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs
• Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation & management
• Endocrine/metabolic: IV insulin protocol adherence
• ICU experience required
• Experience at a large Level 1/2 facility is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred

• PCU average nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1
• ICU average nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
