Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work in ICU unit with 5 ICU beds and 3 stepdown beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3 depending on overflow in ICU
• Med Surg unit has 23 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• May float between ICU, stepdown, and Med Surg units
• Care for ICU patient types including ventilator, BiPAP, AirVO, bariatric surgery, and general surgery patients
• Administer drips including propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Med Surg patient types include bariatric surgery, orthopedic, and general med surg patients
• Every third weekend schedule required
• Must be comfortable caring for 2-5 patients
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• 24 months of recent/current ICU experience required
• Med Surg experience strongly encouraged
• Travel experience within previous 24 months required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Tele reads/measures required
• Iowa nursing license required (active or compact/multistate)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• NIHSS certificate preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Skills checklist specific to ICU/Intensive Care discipline required
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within 24 months preferred
