Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified registered nurse for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) position in the ICU specialty. This role involves providing primary care to critically ill patients with diagnoses such as respiratory failure, post surgical conditions, wound care, IV antibiotics, and cardiac issues. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 critical care environment with various patient care responsibilities.
Job Details
- Position Description: ICU Nurse supporting a unit with 8 beds, caring for ventilated and sedated patients, including PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage, and titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation of application process, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), and at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
- Schedule: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday rotations, and possible floating to Medical-Surgical units.
- Additional Information: ICU nurses provide primary care, work with in-house hospitalist or intensivist teams 24/7, and utilize Phillips telemetry monitors for patient tracking. Orientation includes classroom training and two shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year(s) of inpatient critical care nursing preferred.
