Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, with the potential for 1:3 based on acuity and overflow
• Charting System: Epic
• Floating: Medical-surgical units in Peru and Ottawa may be required

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois license application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent ICU, intensive care, or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Demonstrated competence with central line care, arterial lines, and critical care monitoring
• Experience caring for patients requiring ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, or heated high-flow oxygen
• Ability to safely titrate commonly used critical care infusions
• Willingness to complete required drug screening and comply with facility dress and safety policies

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients with conditions including sepsis, ARDS, acute respiratory failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, complex postoperative needs, overdose, and medically complex behavioral health conditions
• Assess patient status, recognize clinical changes, and implement timely nursing interventions
• Safely administer and titrate infusions such as Cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and Precedex according to orders and protocols
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, ventilated patients, and other advanced critical care equipment
• Participate in cardiac arrest response and follow current American Heart Association guidelines
• Collaborate with hospitalists, nocturnists, critical care physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Complete accurate documentation in Epic while maintaining a safe, organized, and patient-focused environment
• Float to medical-surgical units in Peru or Ottawa when needed and within demonstrated competency
