ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Peru, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care ICU with 8 beds
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week; 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: None
• Floating: Medical-surgical assignments may be required in Peru and Ottawa
• Electronic Health Record: Epic

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois licensure process has been initiated
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Demonstrated proficiency with central line care, arterial lines, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high-flow oxygen
• Ability to safely care for high-acuity patients with changing clinical conditions
• Willingness to work night shifts, rotating weekends, holidays, and applicable floating assignments

Critical Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients, including those with sepsis, ARDS, acute renal failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, complex postoperative conditions, overdose, and behavioral health medical complexities
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate timely nursing interventions
• Safely titrate medications, including Cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and Precedex, according to clinical protocols
• Manage and assess central lines, arterial lines, airway equipment, and other critical care devices
• Support ventilated patients and those requiring BiPAP, CPAP, or heated high-flow oxygen
• Participate in cardiac arrest response and provide care consistent with current American Heart Association guidelines
• Assist with bedside procedures, including bronchoscopy support as appropriate
• Collaborate with hospitalists, critical care physicians, respiratory therapists, supervisors, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
• Maintain a high standard of patient safety, teamwork, and compassionate critical care
