Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in an acute care environment. The role involves caring for adult patients with complex diagnoses such as trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. The RN will be responsible for titrating drips, interpreting monitors, and collaborating with healthcare support staff to deliver quality patient care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with shifts scheduled from 0630-1830 and 1830-0630.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting; location within 50 miles from the facility, with a valid drivers license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with ventilators, cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation management; familiarity with electronic charting system EPIC; experience in trauma or high-acuity environments.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, typically to PCU or Medical-Surgical units when staffing needs arise.
  • Additional Information: The position includes caring for adult patients with high-acuity needs, interpreting ECG strips, and providing bedside care in a 33-bed ICU. Orientation consists of a one-shift unit-specific training, and RTO requests must be limited to seven days or less within the 13-week contract. Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and minimum of two holidays within the contract period.
