  • Floating: Critical Care only
  • Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation, plus 2 days of unit training after jumpstart orientation
  • Schedule Notes: Mandatory attendance required for all 7 days of orientation
  • Unit Size: 12 beds
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2 to 1:3
  • Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

  • Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in ICU or critical care
  • Experience with medical-surgical nursing and/or ICU patient care preferred
  • Comfort working with ventilator management, vasoactive infusions, and psychiatric patients
  • Experience with EPIC charting and medication administration systems is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Manage ventilators, BiPAP, EV 100s, and other critical care equipment as assigned
  • Administer medications and vasoactive drips according to clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective treatment plans
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
  • Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while supporting critical care operations
  • Follow unit procedures and adapt to floating assignments within Critical Care as needed
