ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in an Intensive Care Unit. This position will require you to provide high-quality nursing care for critically ill patients, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.

Shift Details

  • Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend and holiday availability required
  • May require flexible scheduling and potential for extra shifts

Unit Information

  • Combination ICU and PCU unit
  • 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: ICU 1:1-2, PCU 1:3
  • Support staff available: CNAs at a 1:8 ratio

Required Certifications

  • ACLS
  • BLS Certification
  • NIHSS

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU nursing
  • Experience with thermaguard/Zoll cooling and targeted temperature management (TTM)
  • Must have EPIC electronic health record experience
  • Previous travel experience is required
  • Ability to titrate standard ICU drips, including vasoactive and sedative medications

Unit Operations

  • Intensivist available in-house 7 days a week; eICU support during nights
  • Hospitalist present in-house 24/7
  • Respiratory Therapists present in the unit 24/7
  • Tele/Monitor Technicians support monitoring needs, with RNs required to interpret telemetry strips

Orientation and Culture

Expect a comprehensive orientation with 2 days on the unit. The team fosters a positive culture with a focus on teamwork, which includes active involvement with travelers.
