Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: Night shift (12-hour shifts, 0645–1915). Extra shifts may be available. Block scheduling is possible if preferred, as the manager is open to working with schedules. Target start date: September 16, 2026.
- Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every-other-weekend requirement (night shift weekend is Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Holidays rotate with regular staff. No call or standby requirement.
- Radius Rule: Strict 50-mile radius rule—ALL submissions must include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license.
Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope
- Unit Overview: Small 4-bed ICU (no stepdown/PCU in the building, handles med-surg overflow as well). Patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2. Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, afib RVR, suicide, and detox. Cares for occasional arterial lines and can take pediatric patients.
- Support Staff & Supervision: House supervisor on site (no charge nurse; charge does not take an assignment). 1 clinical assistant available most days 24 hours/day (depending on census). Respiratory therapists (RT) are in-house 24/7 covering all areas and managing all equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP). Hospitalists or intensivists are in-house.
- Telemetry & Drips: RNs monitor and read their own telemetry strips house-wide. RNs are required to titrate drips (common titratable drips include propofol, Cardizem, insulin, precedex, and Levophed/levo).
- Floating & Dress Code: If census is low, may float to Med-Surg as needed (typically does not take a full team of patients). Any color scrubs allowed except camo or orange.
- Orientation: 3–5 days of unit training, including tours, policies, Meditech training, pharmacy, and lab training.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: ICU experience required.
- Licensure: Active Maryland (MD) RN license or multi-state compact RN license in hand.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are strictly required at submittal.
