Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services in a medical and cardiac ICU setting. Located at the organizations facility, this role involves providing complex and routine nursing care to patients with conditions such as DKA, acute respiratory failure, myocardial infarctions, coronary artery bypass grafts, and ventilator dependence. The position offers a night shift schedule, with commitments starting in October 2026 and extending through January 2027, ensuring a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shift hours.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred). One year of experience in a critical care setting is preferred but new graduates are accepted. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or a compact license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via American Heart Association (AHA) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification via AHA are required.
- Responsibilities: Provide independent, comprehensive nursing care in a mixed cardiac and medical intensive care unit environment. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing the nursing process. Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor for side effects, and document care thoroughly. Educate patients and their families, and collaborate with team members for optimal clinical outcomes. Make appropriate assignments and delegations to support clinical management.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, post-operative cardiovascular surgeries, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Additional Information: No floating responsibilities are required. Every other weekend work is expected. There is no on-call requirement for this position.
- Job Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend a new nurses orientation within the first 30 days of hire, be precepted by designated trained staff, and complete all organizational competency validations, including critical care-specific assessments and annual competency updates.
