Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position available in a healthcare facility location. This role involves providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions, with a focus on high-acuity cases such as COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neuro diagnoses. The position requires working rotating night shifts and involves managing various titratable drips and troubleshooting advanced ventilator equipment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 06:30 PM to 07:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), at least 2 years of ICU experience, current license to submit.
• Certifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Department Notes: Float to PCU and Medical floors as needed; initial onboarding includes first-week system orientation and 1-2 days of unit-specific training.
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 staffing, with downgrades staffing medical patients at 1:5 and PCU at 1:4.
• Patient Care: RNs required to titrate drips including vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives.
• Responsibilities: Read and interpret tele monitors, troubleshoot ventilators and BiPAP devices, and provide critical care interventions.
• Additional Unit Details: 24/7 critical care coverage including E-ICU staffed with nurse and APRN; in-house hospitalist and intensivist availability; presence of nurse aides/patient care techs with ratios adapting based on census.
• Shift and Scheduling: Self-scheduling permitted with shifts from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700 on a rotating basis; every other weekend and holiday requirement, with mandatory upfront RTO (Request Time Off) of 7 days or less.
• Other Requirements: No full-time, part-time, or PRN candidates associated with facilities related to CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity; artificial nails prohibited; candidates must possess a drivers license and comply with radius restrictions of 50 miles.
• Charting System: EPIC; BSN: Not required.
