Job Summary:
The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Nurse is a registered professional nurse providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a dedicated ICU setting. This position involves delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting patient and family needs during their hospital stay.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, every other week, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week and shift hours totaling 11.5 hours each day.
  • Required Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); 2 years of ICU Med Surg experience; at least 1 year of RN experience; 2 years of travel experience preferred (not required for Per Diem roles); Epic experience highly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing preferred or associate degree in nursing with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
  • Additional Information: The role involves performing charge nurse duties, ensuring appropriate use of supplies, coordinating patient throughput, and adhering to institutional, regulatory, and legal standards. The patient census is approximately 17 to 24 beds per unit, with staffing guidelines of 1:2 shift ratio. The position requires excellent organizational skills and supports clinical development, quality improvement initiatives, and interprofessional collaboration.
