RN-Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit. This role focuses on providing high-quality clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital environment.

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, the nurse will provide competent clinical support for patients with complex needs.

Essential Duties

• Education:
  • Participates in identifying and addressing personal learning needs.
  • Attends educational programs based on identified needs.
  • Utilizes patient education materials relevant to the patient population.
  • Assesses the readiness of patients, families, and caregivers to learn.
• Evaluation of Care:
  • Identifies expected patient outcomes.
  • Seeks guidance in revising care plans as needed.
  • Engages with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care.
  • Communicates pertinent information to ensure continuity of care.
• Implementation:
  • Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex medical issues.
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as required.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies, and procedures in delivering care.
  • Organizes and prioritizes care based on patient and family needs.
• Leadership:
  • Develops professional growth goals and collaborates with supervisors.
  • Participates in achieving unit goals and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides constructive feedback to colleagues.
  • Promotes a safe and secure hospital environment.
• Patient Assessment:
  • Recognizes data and determines care priorities from complex situations.
  • Synthesizes assessment data into actionable information for communication.
  • Anticipates discharge needs for patients and families.
  • Builds relationships with families to empower them to advocate for their needs.
• Planning:
  • Collaborates with patients and families to update care plans.
  • Utilizes multidisciplinary resources in care planning.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Education:

• Required: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC).

Shift Details

Shift hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
