Job Summary:
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit Nights 36 Hours per week 8-week contract. This position involves providing specialized patient care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, pneumonia, multisystem organ failure, neuro, CVA, cardiac/pulmonary, and renal diagnoses. The role requires adaptability to floating within the unit and adhering to established clinical protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (20:00-08:30), minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in Maryland or Compact License, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI certification, minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, no minimum experience required for other qualifications
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, patient ratio experience of 2-3 patients, proficiency in charting with Epic electronic medical record system, community hospital experience, trauma Level I or Level II experience, travel experience preferred but not required
  • Additional Information: Candidates should be comfortable managing ventilated patients, performing complex procedures such as trach care and chest tube management, and administering advanced medications. The position involves floating within the ICU and lower acuity units as needed. Weekend coverage is required every third weekend, with holiday work scheduled as necessary. No pre-scheduled on-call is required. Upon submission, candidates must have an active Maryland or Compact RN License and valid certifications. Compliance documentation is due within 5 days prior to start.
