Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license or pending Virginia RN license in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Must be able to float within scope of practice as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care to critically ill patients in ICU and intermediate care settings
• Float among units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and related intermediate care areas
• Care for ventilated patients and manage complex telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Support procedures and monitoring such as continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation, and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring as assigned
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Follow established float policies, weekend coverage expectations, and holiday rotation requirements
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
