ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position demands individuals with strong clinical skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for critical patients, including those with DKA, Sickle Cell, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Stroke.
• Act as a Rapid Response RN, coordinating care interventions for critically ill patients.
• Perform patient assessments and implement care plans in a high-intensity setting.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring, titrate cardiac drips, and initiate/monitor PCA and CVA protocols.
• Administer medications and manage IVs, feeding tube, and ventilator support as needed.
• Participate in rapid response team initiatives and ensure adherence to best practice protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience preferred.
• Traveler Experience: Open to 1st time travelers and locals.
• Required Skills:

  • Telemetry and Cardiac Telemetry
  • Titration of Cardiac Drips
  • Feeding Tube Management
  • Heparin Protocols
  • PCA Management
  • CVA Care and Management
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BCLS required; NHISS certification preferred.

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:4 in ICU; may float to Med-Surg with a ratio of 1:6 as needed.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Hours: 36 hours can be offered; flexibility to make up missed shifts within the same week or extend the contract to accommodate.
• Weekend Requirement: Must be available for at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Unit Information

• Specialized Equipment: Experience with Bipap, Cpap, and Optiflow technologies.
• Unit Systems: Familiarity with PYXSIS and EPIC systems is beneficial.
• Orientation: 36 hours of unit orientation will be provided.
• Dress Code: Scrubs should be navy or a combination of navy and white.
