First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Houston, Texas.
RN's need to be open to Floating! Busy/Large Level 1 Trauma Candidates need to be flexible on scheduling - no self scheduling EOW required EPIC required Successful placements here have 3+ years exp, pervious travel exp. and have worked in a very busy hospital in the past. # of Beds 12, SICU (6CA) Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:3 depending on downgrade/acuity/emergency admit (infrequent when staffed) Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Liver/kidney transplant, vascular surgeries like endardectomies and fem/pop bypass, ENT for cancer, facial flaps, throat cancer resection, complicated throat/esophageal infections that compromise airway, abdominal surgery like colectomy, ex-laps, abdominal aneursym, mastectomy, deep tissue flaps Experience or 'Must have' skills early recognition of change in patient condition, clear communication and escalation with providers, critical thinking skills, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, ventilator, various drains/surgical sites Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
