Job Details

  • Position Description: ICU RN managing a 10-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio. Responsible for telemetry, ventilator management, and drips such as cardiac, sedation, and paralytics.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, location requirements, and flexibility to work the specified shift schedule.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: RNs are required to read their own strips, perform drip titrations, and troubleshoot ventilator equipment. The unit has a hospitalist or intensivist in-house 24/7, along with respiratory therapists available around the clock. Self-scheduling is practiced, but schedules may be adjusted for balance. Additional supporting staff on the unit includes nurse aides and patient care techs, with some floating to other units as needed. The unit uses electronic charting via EPIC.
