Job Title: Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, home health or palliative care License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah or compact state RN license Certifications: Current BLS Certification Must-Have: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for home visits Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary team. The RN will provide skilled nursing care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Care is provided in accordance with the patient’s plan of care and hospice philosophy. Key responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and coordinating individualized care plans. The RN will provide pain and symptom management consistent with the hospice plan of care. Education and support will be offered to patients and families regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, end-of-life issues, and the hospice philosophy. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, is essential. Participating in an on-call rotation will be required. Accurate and timely documentation must be maintained in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies. Strong clinical assessment skills are required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary. A compassionate demeanor and the ability to support patients and families during difficult times are essential. Responsive capabilities include being able to respond within 45 minutes to patient needs when on call. Holiday coverage is required. Experience with hospice software or EMR is preferred.
