RN – Oncology/Hematology | Stormont Vail Health

  • Discipline/Specialty: Registered Nurse – Oncology/Hematology
  • Facility: Stormont Vail Health
  • Location: Topeka, Kansas
  • Start Date: Submit for one of the following orientation dates:
    • 10/05/2026
    • 10/19/2026
    • 11/02/2026
    • 11/16/2026
    • 11/30/2026
    • Traveler must be flexible; start date may change based on orientation class size.
  • Length of Contract: 26 weeks posted; facility prefers 26–51 weeks. Longer contracts receive priority. 13-week contracts considered case-by-case and must be noted at submission.
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Rotation: Yes
  • Holiday RTO: HCP may request 1 holiday off
  • RTO Policy:
    • 26+ week contract: Maximum 10 RTO days
    • Less than 26 weeks: Maximum 5 RTO days
    • All RTO must be provided at time of submission
  • Float: Yes – other post-surgical floors and other inpatient med-surg floors
  • Call/Callback: N/A
  • Local Travelers: Accepted at the same rate; no radius rule

Required at Submission

  • AHA BLS: Required at time of submission
  • Chemotherapy Certification: Preferred
  • License: Kansas or Multistate license
  • License Restrictions:No Hits allowed – no exceptions
  • Required certifications and licensure must be included at submission
  • Education: ADN or BSN
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year acute-care nursing experience
  • Oncology/Hematology: Preferred
  • First-time Travelers:Not accepted

Additional Requirements

  • Charting: Epic — test-out option available
  • Scrub Color: Navy
  • Staffing Ratio: 1:6; 1:4 with active chemotherapy infusing
  • Compliance Due: 2 Thursdays prior to start date
  • Vaccinations/Immunity:
    • Hep B, MMR & Varicella immunity via titer or proof of completed vaccination series
    • TDaP
    • Influenza vaccine or exemption request during flu season
    • TB documentation
  • Jewelry/Body Adornment: Visible tattoos permitted if not offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate. Facial/ear piercings permitted if professional and not interfering with duties.
