Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Skilled Nursing Facility Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Ability to assess and manage patient care Description: RN position in a skilled nursing facility. Schedule includes Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Average daily census of 56 patients. Open to first-time travelers. Weekend requirement is not mandatory. Key skills required include: Assessment of blood pressure. Assessment of peripheral pulse. Blood glucose monitoring. Diabetes management including insulin administration. Recognizing symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. Bowel sound assessment. Colostomy care. Incontinence management. Care for urinary tract infections. Central line care. Administration of eye drops. Intramuscular medication administration. Nebulizer treatments. IV medication administration. Narcotic count. Oral medication administration. Peripheral line care. Rectal medication administration. Subcutaneous administration. Administration of analgesics, antiarrhythmics, antibiotics, anticoagulants, antihyperglycemics, antihypertensives, antivirals, and non-narcotic pain medications. Wound care and treatments including dressing changes. Use of pressure relief devices. Prevention and assessment of pressure ulcers. Skin and wound assessments. Accurate patient identification. Admission and discharge procedures. Emergency procedures and protocols. Fall prevention and documentation. Infection control including isolation and PPE. Labeling of medications and specimens. Pain assessment and management. Assessment and auscultation of lung sounds. Oxygen administration via nasal cannula or face mask. Pulse oximetry monitoring. Ability to float within service line as needed. No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius. Must complete compliance requirements prior to employment. All pre-start modules and necessary training must be completed before the start date.
