Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

The Float Pool Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care across multiple Medical/Surgical Telemetry units within the organization. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying demands of different patient populations throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac health through telemetry and interpret vital data, including tele strips every four hours.
• Administer cardiac drips and other medication as required.
• Provide patient care in a range of settings including emergency services and acute care.
• Support the nursing staff by filling in across various units as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single facility.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse.
• Proficient in telemetry and capable of measuring intervals and reading strips.
• Experience with TR Band is preferred.
• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Patient Care Information

• Clinician to Patient Ratio: Up to 5:1 during Days & Evenings, up to 6:1 during Nights.
• Patient population includes individuals in transition from the emergency department and acute mental health settings.

Shift Information

• Available shifts include Days, Evenings, and Nights, rotating with one to three night shifts per contract.
• Expectations for Every Other Weekend (EOW) work.

Charting System

Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records and patient charting.

Bed Capacity and Census

• Total Bed Count: 371.
• Unit sizes range from 8 to 41 beds.
