Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Tele/IMC Float Pool

Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Med/Surg Tele/IMC Float Pool. The role requires a versatile nurse who is willing to be floated between Medical-Surgical units and Intermediate Care units to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various medical conditions, including but not limited to:
• • Acute respiratory distress
  • Septic shock
  • Hypertensive crisis
  • Severe congestive heart failure
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Unstable angina
  • Trauma patients
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record system
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intermediate Care unit
• Recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic healthcare records system is mandatory
• Flu shot and a two-step PPD are required prior to starting

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts, from 18:30 to 07:00. Flexible scheduling may be necessary depending on unit needs.
