Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU/MS Float

Scheduling Details

• Contract Length/Shift Details: 3x12s, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Floating: Staffing needs reassessed every 4 hours, potential to float 2-3 times per shift
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: All requests must be submitted
• Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Licenses & Certifications

• ACLS, BLS
• Pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license

Required Clinical Skills

• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management, as well as titrating cardiac drips
• Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols, administering IV insulin, and handling endocrine/metabolic conditions
• Background includes telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC), with cardiovascular experience in pre/post cardiac cath settings

Unit Details

• PCU average nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1
• Medical Surgical average nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
