Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Position in Carlsbad. This inpatient nursing role involves providing general medical-surgical care to occasionally non-critical pediatric patients on a busy medical-surgical unit. The position requires flexibility across various responsibilities, with a focus on high-quality patient care during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Two or more years of experience, BLS certification, and fingerprint clearance for New Mexico travelers
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Float: Float rotation may be required
  • Additional Information:
    • General medical-surgical nursing duties with occasional non-critical pediatric patient care
    • No on-call schedule; on-call may be required for census flexibility before shift start if census is low
    • Patient ratio: 1:6
    • Blocked scheduling may be accommodated, provided it is included in the submission
    • Scrub color is flexible
    • EMR: MedHost
    • Candidates must be registered with the state of New Mexico for fingerprint processing, which may take several weeks
