Position Overview

This is a float pool position requiring flexibility to work throughout various units, including Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Stepdown, and Progressive Care Units (PCU). The role involves providing high-quality nursing care across different specialties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with established protocols and procedures across multiple units.
• Adapt to varying patient needs and unit environments within the hospital.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage a patient load, with ratios up to 1:6 in Med-Surg settings.

Schedule Requirements

• Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00).
• Every other weekend availability is required.
• Flexible scheduling is essential; block schedule requests are not permitted.

Holiday Requirements

Travelers are expected to work major holidays based on their assignment period:

• If one major holiday falls within the assignment, working that holiday is expected.
• If two major holidays occur, the traveler is required to work both.
• If three major holidays fall within the assignment, the traveler must work two of the holidays.

Compliance and Onboarding

Full compliance is required to ensure a timely start. Non-compliance may result in a delay of up to two weeks due to the orientation schedule.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required; the unit accepts first-time travelers.
• Ability to work in various units as needed, demonstrating adaptability and proficiency in diverse nursing skills.

Orientation

Orientation hours are assigned based on contract length; for example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment and 10 hours for a 10-week assignment.
