Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Nurse in New Mexico. This role involves providing general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care on a busy inpatient unit. The position requires flexibility across various patient needs, including occasional non-critical pediatric care, within a general medical-surgical setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with floating and call responsibilities required. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and two or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • The role is based on a general medical-surgical inpatient nursing unit.
    • Patient ratio typically 1:6.
    • Scrub color is flexible.
    • EMR system used is MedHost.
    • No on-call schedule for the general medical-surgical unit; the only on-call occurs due to census flexibility prior to shift start if census is low.
    • Fingerprints are required for all travelers from New Mexico, and candidates must be registered with the state as the fingerprint process may take several weeks.
