Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Endoscopy for a travel nursing job in Champaign, Illinois.
Job Summary (List Format) for Staff Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy:
- Assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
- Provides care using the nursing process, current trends, and available technology.
- Manages nursing, financial, and human resources within the institution's philosophy.
- Delivers direct patient care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures (prep, intra-procedure, and recovery).
- Rotates through all phases of care for routine GI procedures (colonoscopy, upper endoscopy).
- Administers moderate sedation under physician direction.
- Collaborates with unit staff to care for outpatient populations.
- Delegates tasks to unlicensed personnel as appropriate.
- Performs all unit-specific duties and responsibilities within the scope of service.
- Implements nursing procedures and theories specific to endoscopy.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans.
- Implements and modifies care plans based on continuous evaluation and patient/family needs.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting/correcting hazards and incidents.
- Communicates effectively with others to resolve issues and support team development.
- Provides constructive feedback and seeks opportunities for further professional development.
- Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to address them.
- Meets all departmental competency requirements.
- Prepares patients for procedures, reviews health history, starts IVs, and educates patients.
- Monitors and provides sedation during procedures.
- Cares for patients through both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.
- Assists CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia.
- Defines, directs, supervises, and evaluates patient care directly and through delegation.
- Required to float between Champaign Endoscopy Center and Digestive Health Department.
- Works 4 nine-hour day shifts per week, with rotating start times and days off.
- Required: IL RN License, BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA, Associate’s Degree in Nursing, 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Must be proficient in English (speak, read, write).
Med Ninjas Job ID #5095. Pay package is based on 9 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
