Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Job Summary
Join our dedicated nursing team as an Endoscopy Registered Nurse in Elmira, New York. This role involves providing specialized care to both outpatient and inpatient populations undergoing various gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures across multiple campuses.
The Endoscopy RN is a professional caregiver responsible for comprehensive patient management, from assessment and planning to implementation and evaluation of care. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of patient safety and quality outcomes, and adhering to established standards of care and core nursing values.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, formulate nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized plans of care for GI/Endoscopy patients.
- Implement skilled nursing interventions, ensuring patient safety and adherence to established protocols during endoscopic procedures.
- Educate patients and significant others on procedures, conditions, and post-procedure care.
- Accurately document patient care, observations, and outcomes in a timely and concise manner.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and adjust plans as necessary to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Participate efficiently in emergency patient situations, following established protocols and remaining calm.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
- Adhere to all Medical Center, Division of Nursing, and unit-specific policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate accountability for professional practice, continuous quality improvement, and awareness of legal and ethical considerations in patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in Endoscopy or Operating Room (OR) with demonstrated Endoscopy training/experience.
- Ability to provide care for both outpatient and inpatient populations.
- Strong understanding and application of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation).

Shift Details
- Shift Type: Day/Evening, primarily AM shifts.
- Hours: 8-hour shifts. Typical shifts include 06:30 AM - 03:00 PM or 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM.
- Days per Week: 5 days per week.
- Call Requirements: Required to take call as needed, typically once per week and every 6th weekend. Ability to switch call with team members as needed, ensuring continuous coverage.
- Weekend Rotations: Every 6th weekend.
- Contract Length: 13-week assignment.
- Assignment Dates: October 4, 2026, to January 2, 2027.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work with candidates on flexing shift lengths and times.
Licensing Requirements
- Current and unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
