Job Breakdown – Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)
Facility: Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca
Location: Ithaca, NY
Department: Endoscopy
Contract: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts
Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The role covers both:
- Outpatient Endoscopy Center
- Main Hospital Endoscopy Unit
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient procedures
- Complete pre-admission nursing assessments
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure care
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Provide equipment and supplies for procedures
- Monitor and document patient condition
- Educate patients and families
- Maintain equipment and a clean/safe procedure environment
- May function as a charge nurse
- May supervise LPNs, endoscopy technicians, aides, and patient access representatives
Requirements
- Current NYS RN license – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Must obtain before completion of introductory period
- Previous hospital aide or LPN experience is listed as the experience requirement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
