Description:
Endoscopy RN with 2 years of Endoscopy experience is required.
This is a very busy unit.
The shift is days, either 4x10 or 5x8.
Scheduled hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Every third weekend will be required.
Call will depend on skill level.
Candidates must have the necessary skills to recover conscious sedation, perform bronchoscopy, circulate, and assist with colonoscopy and EGD procedures.
Candidates must be able to administer conscious sedation and interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
Monitoring conscious sedation and specimen handling/labeling are also required skills.
Candidates must have experience in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECGs as well as endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures.
Additional skills include scrubbing for procedures, managing bronchoscopy supplies and carts, using portable/bedside travel cases, and operating various endoscopic equipment.
Candidates must be able to start and maintain IVs and manage airways effectively.
Knowledge of recovering monitored anesthesia care sedation and performing ERCPs is necessary.
Candidates should be prepared to handle esophageal varices and banding.
Familiarity with specialized equipment such as lithotripters and reversal agents is important.
Daily census is approximately 15 patients.
Candidates should be comfortable floating to other units based on skill set and census with no restrictions or special requests.
