Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Gastroenterology and Pulmonary Procedures – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 8-hour day and evening shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Weeknight call required. Flexibility to stay beyond shift end to complete daily schedule as needed.

Highlights
  • Provide procedural nursing care for gastroenterology and pulmonary procedures including ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy
  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation using RN-driven assessment approach with Ramsay Sedation Scale protocols
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care across all levels including PACU Phase I and Phase II recovery
  • Work in a high-acuity environment with daily census of 20-25 patients across 4 procedure rooms
  • Epic EMR system in use; 20 hours of orientation provided
  • Join a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma Center recognized as one of the nation's leading academic medical centers
Requirements
  • Current Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license (pending Wisconsin license accepted with submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in gastroenterology and/or pulmonary procedures within the last 3 years
  • Level 1 Trauma Center or similar academic hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
  • Demonstrated competency in moderate sedation administration and airway management
  • Experience recovering patients from sedated GI and pulmonary procedures
  • Proficiency in administering Propofol, Versed, opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
  • Strong IV insertion and maintenance skills
  • Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and manage dysrhythmias
  • Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • CGRN certification preferred
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
