Job Summary:
Endoscopy Laboratory (Endoscopy Lab) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in the area. This role involves providing nursing care and ensuring patient safety for individuals undergoing endoscopic procedures, with or without sedation. The nurse demonstrates strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and efficiency skills, acting as a resource for students and new team members, while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 9 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or Nursing Diploma; Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; BLS (AHA); ACLS (AHA); Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment start date
- Preferred Qualifications: N/A
- Supports, educates, and reassures patients and their families throughout procedures
- Collaborates with pre-operative care registered nurses to assess patient needs and procedure requirements, performing ongoing assessments and documenting changes from baseline status
- Develops and implements plans of care, communicating updates to the healthcare team and patient/family members as appropriate
- Uses aseptic principles during procedures, monitoring compliance and initiating corrective actions when necessary
- Integrates theoretical knowledge into clinical practice, focusing on evidence-based research to improve patient outcomes
- Participates in quality evaluations and contributes to activities aimed at enhancing patient care and the healthcare environment
- Assists with inventory management and documents equipment and supply usage for accurate billing and control
- Performs other clinical duties as assigned and may float to other departments or nursing units within scope of competency based on operational needs
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts
