Location: Richmond, VA
Facility: Henrico Doctors
Address: 1602 Skipwith Road, Richmond, VA 23229
Unit: Endoscopy
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Days: Monday–Friday; schedule may range from 6:00 AM–3:00 PM based on assignment

Position Overview

Henrico Doctors is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy to join its Endoscopy team for a 13-week assignment. The RN will be responsible for circulating and providing patient care throughout a variety of diagnostic and advanced endoscopic procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong Endoscopy experience and the ability to support advanced procedures, including ERCP, EUS, EBUS, robotic bronchoscopy, and ION procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Circulate for endoscopy and advanced procedural cases.
  • Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients throughout the peri-procedural process.
  • Perform pre-op assessments and patient questioning.
  • Provide PACU care as assigned.
  • Assist with advanced endoscopic and bronchoscopic procedures.
  • Maintain patient safety and adhere to procedural and infection-control standards.
  • Accurately document patient care using Meditech Expanse and Provation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, anesthesia staff, and other members of the procedural team.
  • Adapt to staffing and operational needs, including floating to the ASC and other surrounding facilities as required.
  • Support procedures and equipment according to unit protocols and scope of practice.
Unit Details
  • Endoscopy Suites: 2
  • Circulator Ratio: 1:1
  • PACU: Up to 2 patients
  • Pre-op: 1:1 during pre-op questioning; may increase to 1:3 while patients are waiting
  • Room Staffing: 1 RN Circulator + 1 Tech
  • Scope Washer: Designated for the shift
  • Equipment: Olympus scopes, OER Elite washer, ION robotic system
  • Documentation: Meditech Expanse and Provation
Procedures Performed

The Endoscopy unit performs a broad range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and advanced procedures, including:

  • Colonoscopy
  • EGD
  • Pill Cam
  • Bravo studies
  • ERCP
  • EUS
  • EBUS
  • Bronchoscopy
  • ION robotic bronchoscopy
  • Other advanced endoscopic procedures
Required Qualifications
  • Active Compact RN License or Virginia RN License
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant Endoscopy experience, with credentials and experience appropriate to the candidate's scope of practice
  • Demonstrated ability to circulate for endoscopy procedures
  • Experience with advanced procedures, including:
    • ERCP
    • EUS
    • EBUS
    • Robotic bronchoscopy
    • ION procedures
  • Strong knowledge of endoscopy patient care and procedural safety
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
  • Willingness to float to the ASC and surrounding facilities as needed
Required Certifications
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
Additional Information

This is a 13-week travel assignment on a day shift. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling, as shift times may vary based on assignment needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with advanced endoscopy equipment and supporting complex procedural cases.
